Let it go. We have all heard that saying before. It can be applied to a number of different situations. But today we will talk about how not letting go can be detrimental to the progress of your finances and growth in your business. Letting go can be a really hard thing to do for Entrepreneurs. We want everything to be perfect and done exactly how we want it done. We often start doing everything as we create the foundation for our businesses. However, we grow, we cannot continue to do everything ourselves. We have to let go and start delegating tasks. This is a big part of being able to grow your business and increase your profits. Here are two ways that letting go and delegating can increase profits, cash flow, and revenue in your business.
- Letting go allows you to get the big fish that make your business the big money. There will always be small tasks that need to handled, but there are bigger fish to fry. The small tasks are items that can be assigned to your team or independent contractors like virtual assistants, social media managers, etc… You have to delegate the small tasks so that you are free to be the face of your business and do only the things that you should like media, client meetings, strategic partnerships, etc… You go out and get the deals that will make you the money. If you try to handle things that can easily be done by someone else or micromanage everything you have delegated, then you are letting money walk away from your business. A great way to the tone for tasks being done as you desire is by putting processes, procedures, and systems into place that will allow those delegated tasks to be directed from beginning to end by anyone assigned the tasks.
- Letting go allows you to have more time to come up with more ways to make money. When you do not delegate, it takes up a lot of time from your work day. Instead of working 12 hour days trying to do everything, you can transfer most of those hours of work to someone else. That frees up your time to get more contracts, sell more products, and produce more cash flow. To stay relevant within your niche, it also allows you the time to develop new and innovative ways to bring in more revenue. Delegation helps you to build sound wealth in your business.
Even though letting go and delegating is not something that is easy for Entrepreneurs to do, it is something we have to do in order to be successful with money in our business. It’s better to pay out now to get to your goals quicker than try to do everything and be stressed out, broke, and the business be in financial trouble. Here’s my motto, if it takes a person you can pay 10 minutes and you 3 days, just pay. The return on investment will come.
Sit down and figure out ways that smaller tasks can be delegated so that you can continuously do the things that make money in your business. And don’t say you don’t have the money. Check for resources such as interns, mentees, Fiverr.com, and more to get it done.
More time, less tasks. Big fish, more profits. See, it’s simple.
