Entrepreneurs have great opportunities to attend events to network and get notoriety in business, meet new people, or attract new clients. Networking can help you achieve all of these things. However, there are also those that will go out and meet people, but do not get any results. Think about how many people that you see on a day-to-day basis when you have a business. Do you remember everyone? No. It can be the same for those that meet you. You have to follow-up your introduction to people with another interaction and when you do not, you are leaving money on the table. Here are two reasons why you need to follow-up.
- People have to interact with you at least 10 times before they actually even remember who you are. As an Entrepreneur, you cannot give up on a possible new connection just because they do not respond to your initial contact. Instead of relying on that one interaction, stay consistent with your contact; whether it is once a week or once a month, it allows the potential client to know that you show up consistently. When it is time to get the business, they think of you because they have heard from you routinely. It takes more than that one time at that one place where you meet that one person that doesn’t remember you. With more business, you get more cash flow and an increase in profits because you continued to follow up.
- Following up will always put you ahead of the game.So many Entrepreneurs meet potential clients and then disappear. They either get busy, forget, or just plain do not follow through as a part of their plan. It happens. Since it happens so often, many people love to hear back from you when done in a way of value to them. When you take the time to connect with the people you meet, get to know what they need, and provide valuable information and services that they need, they remember that. Therefore when it comes time to make a buying decision, you are the one that they select to buy from or refer people to for the buy. Consistent follow-up builds buying relationships and those relationships increase profits and cash flow.
When you consistently follow-up, you will see an improvement in the cash flow and profits in your business. Stop networking without following up and start networking to build relationships that increase in your finances.
